Investment Performance and Sales: An Evolving Relationship
The relationship between investment performance, sales and innovation in the funds industry is, among other things, complicated. Advisors and investors tend to favour funds that are highly rated among peers in terms of investment return track record. In a rapidly changing economic environment, however, innovative mandates and management styles are also sought-after attributes.
