Canadian-Listed ETFs Withstand the COVID-19 Crisis

Strong sales momentum carried into March 2020 even as capital market valuations declined sharply. Canadian-listed ETF assets experienced their largest monthly asset decline since July 2002, falling by 9.4% to end the month at $190.5 billion. While both the pandemic and its economic impacts have not discriminated, Canadian equities were hit disproportionately hard over March reflecting depressed oil prices.
