Insight September 2010 Monthly Update

The September 2010 Insight Advisory Service report looks at load structures within the mutual funds industry, tracking the evolution of assets and sales for front-end, back-end (DSC) and low load fund options. Our research closely examines the significant structural shift that has taken place within the realm of load funds. Assets have moved away from the back-end load structure towards front-end and low load. For several years, including during the market downturn, low load funds have generated uninterrupted positive inflows. Some of the big banks, beyond their success in the no load space, have also managed to gain considerable traction in the load segment via their Advisor series.
